From the Albums of James George Harlow
These images are scans of black and white photos from the albums of James Harlow, son of George and Hazel Harlow, brother of Kenneth Harlow, husband of Barbara Harlow, and father of Donald Harlow, Anne Trussell, and Vere Harlow. Most of the photos were small and all required restoration. Not all were taken by James Harlow; some were taken by Ray Atkeson, Curtis Ijames, Al Monner, and others, companions on many hikes and mountain climbs.
These are, in the compiler's opinion, the "best of the best" of James Harlow's black and white pictures from 1919 to 1955. They offer an interesting record of his mountain hikes and climbs, meeting his wife Barbara, building his home in Lake Grove, Oregon, and the early years of his children.
The thumbnail images below link to larger images with captions based on those written in the albums. The captions include credits; if none is given, the photo is assumed to be by James Harlow. Enjoy!
